Some tips for shooting fireworks
So yesterday we went to Prague's New Year fireworks. This year, it moved directly over the Vltava River, which was definitely a good idea. I popularization succeeded, so Hall could be satisfied. For the photographer, but it meant a number of challenges - new location, the search scene, crowds, etc. I do not know how your result, but my way was amazing, so small Ten Commandments for you and for me next year:
1) Make sure that know when and where fireworks will (this move was well anoncován)
2) Come early (the well-known fireworks sooner. This year, Prague's like to almost 2 hours in advance)
3) to dress well when it's cold (this winter was mild, but creeping)
4) Choose more wide-angle lens (minimize the risk that fireworks will not fit into the picture, the better cjí individual effects, reducing shake blur, etc. - has been a lot of my 40 mm)
5) Do not increase unnecessarily ISO (noise in the black sky as deleted and you prefer a longer time, it is light enough)
6) Select central aperture of f/5.6 - f / 8,0 (you will have a huge depth of field , filters out ambient light and some even smoke)
7) Předostřete and turn off the AF (no matter if předostříte manually or automatically, especially off the AF. present and not needed.)
8) exposure can be measured automatically in the scheme and / and, in that case I recommend about compensation-2EV .
9) After a couple of images you can easily switch to manual exposure. In terms of time, you can experiment from 1/100s to calm 3 seconds. (I chose this time around 1s)
10) It may sound strange, but only if you shoot fireworks without the environment, you can easily shoot from the hand. If you want to incorporate the environment around, I recommend a tripod.
+ Shoot to RAWu. You will not solve the color white balance, exposure, etc. easily corrected
