FAITH
In our series dedicated to the virtues already discussed the four cardinal virtues, also called obyczajowymi or human, and predisposing to the deeds of a fair, consistent with common sense. As a matter of discussion so now we take the theological virtues, that is, those which relate directly to God. Their origin, motive and the object is the Triune God (CCC 1812). They are faith, hope and love. This text will devote a brief reflection on faith.
The catechism of Peter Cardinal. Gasparri faith is very concise and specifically described as a supernatural virtue, which, under the inspiration and with the help of grace makes it take for the truth of what God has revealed, and through the Church gives to the belief, and accept it as truth, not because we reviewed the inherent light of understanding the inner truth of these truths, but for the sake of the seriousness of God himself, who is revealed, and who is wrong or may not make a mistake.
analysis of this definition should allay many doubts as to what attitude should be characterized by a holy person professing the Catholic faith. First, the faith we receive the grace of God, therefore we should thank God for her and her to pray. Someone who disregard the faith and lose it (for example, through negligence), can not expect that it will recover as soon as he wanted.
Second, God reveals Himself through the Church, because faith can not be seen as a personal inspiration in isolation from the teaching of the Church. Unfortunately, we often meet with the views of that faith is a private matter of every man, that it can be freely interpreted and shaped. Sometimes we find people who believed themselves to be Catholics also believe in reincarnation, do not recognize all the commandments, do not believe in the existence of hell, or driven by superstition and fortune. Be explained by the fact that they remain faithful to their deep, inner convictions. They remain in error and should not be called Catholics, until the spirit of humility does not reject their own dreams and do not accept what is given them to the beliefs of Holy Mother Church.
Thirdly we believe because of God, and not because of their own reasoning, the last part of the definition of faith is reproduced here should give us much food for thought the more that happen to hit the people who interpret their faith well-conducted reasoning - often they do so with good intentions do not see where there is a trap. A trap that is pride. If someone believes in God, must also believe in God. We do not accept the faith because everything penetrated my mind, but - knowing how it is limited - we entrust to God without limits.
ustosunkujmy At the end of the still often preached superstition, that the faith was contrary to reason. It is true that matters of faith reason not overwhelmed, but there is no conflict, by contrast, is harmony, because the reason - you know, it is limited - we rely on faith in matters which are not covered. Anyway between faith and reason is no contradiction can occur because - according to the catechism of Cardinal. Gaspariego - the same God who reveals mysteries and poured into the faith, gave the light of reason the human soul and God Himself can not deny, nor a truth can not oppose the other.

Faith, as one of the virtues of Theology, has a helmet on his head as a sign that to have true faith, the mind must be protected against the blows of his enemy's army (which are reasons of natural philosophers and heretics sofistyczne tudziez bad Christians), holding it firmly in the doctrine of the Gospel and the commandments of God as Holy. Greg says in his Homily 26: fides non habet ubi humana ratio merits praebet experimentum (faith has no value when the human mind seeks experience - KP).
